Many people dream of being their own boss one
day. And for those who achieve that it can either be a success
or a nightmare. First the nightmare: You set up your own business
and suddenly instead of working for a fool you find yourself
working for a lunatic, namely yourself. You have no time for
your family, your other pleasures. Everything seems to be work,
work, work and worry, worry, worry. The business is taking a
lot longer to be successful than your thought. The bank manager
is on your back.
This scenario is the sorry story of millions of small business
start-ups, 85% of which fail in less than two years. The reasons
are numerous; lack of experience, wrong temperament, staff
difficulties, credit problems, poor cash flow, poor marketing
or simply no market at all. The flipside is being successful
as your own boss with you being in complete
charge and no one telling you what to do. For instance how
does this sound? Doing something you enjoy, working from home,
being in profit from almost day one, no money worries and
having lots of free time.
Oh yes, one more thing – building up a residual income
so you can retire within three to five years if you want to.
That sort of business does exist. It allows you to be your
own boss without all the associated headaches. Provided you
are prepared to work, be steadfast and consistent, there is
no way you can fail.
